Letter Campaign
Once you have completed the research on your company, write
a letter to them about your opinion on their production chain.
- Have a clear and identifiable stance on the company’s production practices. You are free to express your opinion about the company; you can praise, condemn, disapprove, boycott, applaud, compliment, etc.
- You will need to mention at least ten facts that you found while researching.
- You are also free to include any other research that you come across, including statistics or photos.
- Your letter must be professional and addressed personally to an individual in the company.
- Suggest ways that the company can change some of its practices
- The final copy of your letter must be a minimum of 250 words

Reflection
In a reflection of 150 words, explain two of the following political cartoons. The two political cartoons that you select can compliment or oppose one another. Express your opinion about the cartoons' stances. In your reflection, make reference to any activities we've done in this unit so far. I'd like one reflection per student.

Revealing Origin of Goods Activity: Part 1
a) Select your favourite clothing brand.
b) Find its main website.
c) Scour the site to find out where the clothing was created.
d) Once you've found or have concluded that there is no such information accessible through the site, discuss with a peer. Then, discuss as a class when everyone is ready to do so.

After a discussion with a peer, complete a quick-write responding to one of the following questions.
a) It is ethical to purchase something without knowing where it came from?
b) Is it worth paying a higher price for a product that you know has been made ethically?
c) How can you ensure that you are not supporting sweatshops, child labour, or pollution?

Watch film using laptop and projector provided. Students are, approximately, at the 50 minute point.
